Mt. Hood Meadows

Click here for a related article: "The Last Powder Day of the Season"

This Resort is located on the South Eastern side of Mt. Hood and is its biggest. Offering the most variable terrain and consist snow conditions compared to Ski bowl which is located much lower on Hood. Meadows has a part of it called Heathers Canyon which people can often find closes do to unstable snow conditions. It hosts some of the steeper runs found at the Resort but nothing to wild. Your best best is to head down to Lower heather and hang out in the trees. There are many steeper shoots with good spacing allowing you to carry speed throughout you run.

Another great locations to fund some steeps and the Resorts best offering of cliffs is upper Elevator Shaft. This part of the his is often very wind blow but when the show is good and the landings are good 60ft. cliffs are very do able. The only cast is typically when these conditions to exist the upper Cascade chair lift is closed because of it. The views from Upper Evelivator are often really nice on a clear days and you can see all the way in the southern valleys.
