2007 MOVIE REVIEWS

Coreshot films is a new production company that is coming out with
their first film this year and it looks like a good one. The people in
the film are all the everyday athletes that you see on your local hill.
Some are sponsored but most are not and the ones that do get the hook
up are usually lucky to get a free pairs of sticks in a season. They
are out there for the thrill and love every turn, every crash, and
every finish.

COMPANY BIO:    Coreshot films was founded in the
fall of 2006 by O.J. Abben and Frank Foley. Both are Lake Tahoe
residents whose goal is to show the lifestyle element behind ski
filming. This new production company will focus on the athletes they
are working with in a broader spectrum. Unlike the "strictly skiing to
music" films of today, Coreshot Films will focus on behind the scenes
aspects of skiing culture as well as the ongoing saga of their
athlete's lives. This documentation hopes to shed light on an amazing
sport and the characters who make it their life.

About this years film:

The
Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series events are scheduled at some of the best
and most challenging resorts in the United States. Telluride, Colorado,
Squaw Valley, California, Snowbird, Utah, Jackson Hole, Wyoming and
Kirkwood, California are the five mountains hosting the events this
year.

Coreshot films will have a crew of athletes and filmmakers
to capture the action, lifestyle, and sacrifice of competing on the
tour. Profiling not only the intense action of skiing in the
competitions, but also constant behind the scenes documentation. Giving
an in depth and exciting portrayal of life on the tour will be our
mission.

Sometimes you see a new film come out and you can't wait to see it. I
have a feeling that many of you will see this trailer and get that
feeling deep down inside. Thats right from the people that brought you
nothing but pain and unchecked aggression on the slopes as they blocked
your way and made turns so unpredictable that not even MISS CLEO ,world
renown phone physic, could not predict them. In their acid wash jeans
and football starter jackets fully unzipped only to expose tightly
fitting turtle neck T's they produced this gem "GAPER DAY". Perhaps a
culture unfairly misunderstood and often elusive because of there
aggressive yet random style. The people that you always wish you got to
sit next on the chairlift but because of their all consuming lift
loading style they often ride solo herded away from the masses by lift
ops. This film looks to touch on a more tender place in the gaper sub
culture i think. So remember before you hate , lets educate. you can
find this full film for free on you tube....

Lipstick Films came out with their first every production this year with a healthy 45min film called "Since we last spoke". The whole film was shot on one camera in Utah. It was a dry year for them out there so there wasn't as much big mountain back country as they wanted but the new company still came through with a quality film. If you have been in the dark about the world of telemark skiing and its progression in recent years then this film will put all your concerns to rest. There are several young free heel junkies killing it in the park and throwing down in the POW POW. The crew behind this film is passionate about the cause and is truly doing it for the love of the sport. Although this film might not put you on the edge of your seat or cause you to have a face melting experience right there and then you should watch out for these guys in years to come. The film is well put together with a swacky sound track. They will definitely be pushing the sport and making sure that the free heelers of the world progress along with the rest of the industry. Next year I would definitely like to see a little (OK a lot MORE) more big mountain lines along with the rails and table tops and I'm sure that I will not be disappointed. WATCH OUT FOR THESE GUYS.........

Well it is that time of the year again and MATCHSTICK once again brings it to the table with their movie "SEVEN SUNNY DAYS". And Once again they show the progression of the sport and how it is being pushed to new limits with bigger lines, scarier hucks, bigger hits, and a base jumping session that is sure to blow your hair back. Matchstick has put together a quality film this year just like they always seem to do with a truck load of the leaded athletes in the sport. Every year that I go to the show they always have something new that they throw into the mix. This year it was the "zootsuit" base jumping patrons up north. And thats not to mention the truly HOT SARAH BURKE pictured to your left>>

The movie comes though my town on the 17th of November so I will be
posting a review as soon as I get it but feel free to shoot me some
comments if you have seen it and I will post them for yah....

CHECK OUT THE TRAILER THOUGH.
