1. Take a snap shot from below and make sure that you get that face with a few lines that you are thinking about taking in the shot.
2. Then use that handy zoom feature on the digital screen of the camera to get a closer look at those lines. Notices things like tall trees at the top of the ridge that will be easy to reference once you are standing up there.
3. When this is your view from the top of the line that you want to ski you will be amazed at how helpful that digital camera is.
Here's one tip that you might not have thought about before. It has
to do with the new handy dandy digital cameras that are so easy to use. A lot of the time when
you are skiing/riding something new and you see it for the first time
at the bottom you get excited and pick out a few lines that you like
and head on up. Then, you get to the top and everything looks totally
different. Especially when the lines are steep and gnarly and just
looking over a chute can be scary.
The digital camera has helped to fill that mental void created by
looking at things from below and then from above. A simple method is to take
a nice snap shot of the face that you are about to ski from below.
Making notes of large trees and rocks that you can reference from the
top. That way once you get to the top you can look at that picture and
then position yourself above that line you wanted to ski. Its simple
and easy only taking a few clicks of the camera.
