Glen Plake

Glen Plake is one of the most distinctive figures in American Freestyle skiing and extreme sports today. Born in Livermore, California, on September 9, 1964, he is known for his appearance in ski films such as The Blizzard of Aahs, and for his trademark (often dyed blonde or blue) Mohawk hairstyle.Plake, along with Scott Schmit were extremely significant in the uprise of extreme skiing in America, being the pioneers. In recent years he has served as host for the RSN Cable Network's program Reel Thrills.

He has also appeared in several ski films by Warren Miller, including a lead role in SnoWhat? (1993).

According to his official biography:

"...it was his third-grade teacher who used a Möbius flip from the seminal '70s ski flick Outer Limits as a way of demonstrating math that turned his life. For Glen, there fell into place a connection between skiing and the wider world, an understanding that there were deeper forces beneath this sliding on snow. In that brief flash of insight, Plake knew that skiing held something greater for him.. "

Plake is a two-time World Hot Dog Ski champion.

After more than two decades skiing and endorsing K2 skis, from October 2006 Plake joined Slovenian ski company Elan[1] where he will contribute in a design and development role.
